As Patron of the Festival of Sails 2013, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the participants and visitors to the Festival.
In a world of always evolving sporting events, the Festival of Sails in Geelong is unique as it enters its 170th year making it older than the America’s Cup.
And why? Because this world class event delivers the essence of sport….it delivers excellent sailing, year on year, highly competitive and fun. The 2013 Festival of Sails will not disappoint with over 15 different race series catering to the highest performance Grand Prix racers in the Audi IRC Australian Championships, through to Trailable cruisers who annually make the trip to Geelong over the Australia Day weekend to soak up the unique atmosphere of the event.
In addition to the sailing, a strong calendar of shore based activities will once again see the Waterfront in Geelong filled with a Community Festival offering something for all the family to enjoy.
This event is fantastic not only for sailing, but for Victoria and Australia.
