On behalf of the City of Greater Geelong it is my pleasure to welcome everyone to the 2012 Festival of Sails.
Every year the Festival of Sails promises something for everyone; thrilling sailing action for high performance or cruising sailors, family entertainment, exciting water activities for all to try, in a relaxed festival atmosphere.
The Festival of Sails is accompanied by continuous live entertainment, performances, aerobatic displays and outdoor dining along the Geelong Waterfront and above all, it is a unique Australia Day weekend experience.
There is nothing better than sitting on the edge of Corio Bay’s sparkling waters, watching the sails sliding past, listening to live bands and relishing the huge array of Geelong’s finest foods and wines.
And to conclude a brilliant waterside weekend, on Thursday night the Bay FM Fireworks Spectacular provides a fantastic display for all the family to enjoy.
We know, as many locals attest, that the thousands of visitors who come to 2012 Festival of Sails will enjoy the best week of sailing in the world.
