The Festival of Sails is renowned for showcasing the best talent from all over the country and this year is no exception.
Headlining the Geelong Advertiser Stage in Steampacket Gardens on Saturday 25th will be none other than the legendary Tex Perkins and his new project ‘The Ape’. Warming things up for him will be infectious indigenous star Ngaiire. Also on the Steampacket Stage will be Spender who recently released a track together with Gotye, local Melbourne singer songwriter Eliza Hull and local Geelong favourite Steve Thew.
Sunday 26th (Australia Day) will be headlined by Miss Murphy and her amazing band. Made famous from her time on The Voice, Miss Murphy has gone from strength to strength performing with The Bamboos and recording her debut album, which is due out early in 2014 on Universal Music. Also headlining will be a very special rare solo performance from Australia’s indie darling Bertie Blackman. What a line up! Also featuring on the Sunday will be The Age EG award winner, bluesman Dan Waters, local Geelong star Imogen Brough, Hello Morning frontman Steven Clifford and Melbourne stalwart Juan Alban.
The BayFM Fireworks spectacular will close out Australia Day, as the Geelong Waterfront lights up at sunset.
Monday is once again a line up especially for the kids. This year we have a stage show and a meet and greet with ABC TV legend Fireman Sam! Supporting Sam with be local legends Kyle Taylor plus a performance from the Geelong Harmony Choir.
The Royal Geelong Yacht Club stage will also be rocking each night from Friday to Sunday and Monday afternoon, with performances from Jade MacRae, Kathy Hinch and rock cover band Monkey Wrench. (Note: A $10 cover charge will apply to non-competitors)
Also running from Saturday to Monday will be the Fairnie Park stage with an array of local performers, plus our usual roving entertainment to keep you on your toes!
