What date is the festival?
The 2017 Festival of Sails regatta runs from Saturday January 21st until Tuesday January 24th, with additional sailing from Wednesday 25th – Friday 27th.
Shoreside, the action happens all across the waterfront, from Steampacket Gardens to Eastern Beach, all day Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd. Twilight markets will run on Eastern Beach from Monday 23rd – Wednesday 25th, and a huge shoreside celebration on Australia Day (Thursday 26th January) that will again stretch from Steampacket Gardens right down to Eastern Beach Reserve.
How much does it cost to attend?
The Festival of Sails shoreside entertainment is free to attend for all patrons, with market stalls and food vendors selling their wares for your enjoyment. The Regatta Village precinct (inside the Royal Geelong Yacht Club) is ticketed after 6pm and wristband entry is required. Wristbands can be purchased from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club in the lead up to the event, or at the gate on the night. Entry is $10 for a single night or $20 for a full Regatta Pass.

Where can I park?
Parking is available along Ritchie Blvd and the surrounding streets of the Geelong Waterfront. Please check all signage to ensure you are aware of payments required and time restrictions.
What roads are closed?
Eastern Beach Road will be closed between Yarra and Bellarine Streets from Friday 20th January.
One third of Ritchie Blvd (closest to the swimming pool) will be closed from Wednesday 25th January.
These road closures will remain in place for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Race weekend. Please check the CEGORR website for more details on when the roads will re-open.
Are there toilets nearby?
Public toilets are located on Transvaal Square, in Steampacket Gardens, and in the Regatta Village.

Will First Aid be available?
A First Aid tent will be available on Steampacket Gardens and an additional First Aid area will be located within the Regatta Village.
What is there for kids to do?
Lots! The Festival of Sails is a family friendly environment with plenty of activities for children of all ages. Check out the kids rides on Transvaal Square or Eastern Beach Reserve, have a go at stand up paddleboarding, try your hand at sailing (for free!) or simply enjoy the food, market stalls and entertainment on Steampacket Gardens – including a number of kids entertainers!
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. There will be designated areas where alcohol can be sold and consumed, only within the Royal Geelong Yacht Club (Regatta Village precinct). As per City of Greater Geelong regulations, no alcohol is permitted to be consumed in public outside of these designated licensed areas.
What night are the fireworks?
The fireworks display will take place on Australia Day – Thursday 26th January. at 9.30pm
Will there be ATMs on site?
There is an ATM located inside the RGYC Clubhouse, and one located near the Wharf Shed
