I’d like to warmly welcome you to Greater Geelong, our beautiful city home to the Festival of Sails.
The City of Greater Geelong is happy to support the Festival of Sails each year through Geelong Major Events and the Royal Geelong Yacht Club is honoured to be home to the regatta.
Geelong’s waterfront comes alive as the festival arrives in town over the Australia Day long weekend, I am proud that as host city we are a part of the largest annual keel boat regatta in the Southern Hemisphere.
There is always plenty to see and do at the Festival of Sails with thrilling sailing action, exciting water activities and a variety of on-shore entertainment including live music, craft, gourmet food stalls and wine tasting.
The Festival is great for a family day out with plenty of children’s activities available in Transvaal Square, a dedicated Kids Zone featuring rides, a petting zoo and amusements. You can even take your kids to a sailing lesson.
I encourage you to soak in the atmosphere as you watch the racing and continue on into the night to celebrate at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club.
