Corio Bay provides the perfect venue for sailing and boating. Since Geelong’s founding more than 160 years ago, the bay’s waters have attracted people seeking recreation and fun. The beautiful waters of Corio Bay offer excellent sailing, spectacular views and fresh summer breezes. The Festival of Sails offers a quality fleet, short courses – and an endless choice of post racing activities to ensure you enjoy your stay in one of the world’s most lively cities.
The Royal Geelong Yacht Club held Victoria’s first regatta on Corio Bay, back in 1844. Although historical records indicate it was a ‘modest affair’ – it was instantly established as an annual event on the calendar. In 2004, thanks to Skandia, the regatta was taken to a new level of success. Today, the Festival of Sails is one of the world’s premier sailing events.
This regatta is a must do! Sensational racing, an action packed social program and an atmosphere that will blow you away.
Royal Geelong Yacht Club looks forward to welcoming you to the Festival of Sails in 2014!
