Festival Of Sails

SAVE THE DATE: Festival of Sails 2021

2020 has proven to be a tough year for all businesses – particularly live events – due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of the pandemic, the Festival of Sails Organising Committee is working closely with its key stakeholders to ensure, should circumstances allow, the Royal Geelong Yacht Club is positioned to safely and responsibly deliver another great event over the Australia Day long weekend in 2021. The team is constantly monitoring and being guided by information issued by the Australian, Victorian and Local Governments to inform planning and decision making.

Saturday 23 January – Tuesday 26 January 2021

The Festival of Sails attracts around 300 vessels and over 2,200 sailors to the Geelong Waterfront annually to race on Corio Bay and celebrate at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club over the Australia Day long weekend. 2021 will be our 178th instalment of the iconic Passage Race from Williamstown to Geelong.

We know many in our sailing community are eager to get back on the water when it is safe to do so, and we hope to welcome you back to Geelong in 2021.

Stay up to date via our website and socials for all information regarding the progression of the event as well as racing information and festival activities as it becomes available.
