Festival goers will learn there’s a lot more to Bundy than a bear and coke when they enter the Bundaberg Distillatorium at the Regatta Village during the 2016 Festival of Sails.
The $1.2 million mini-distillery, boutique bar and tasting venue is on a three year national tour and visits Geelong for the first time from January 22 to 26.
The Distillatorium aims to bring the 126 year history of Bundaberg rum to a wider audience, providing visitors with a rare chance to taste the many different styles of this iconic brand, in particular the Master Distiller’s Collection, the company’s developing range of premium rums.
These new bespoke, limited edition rums have their own unique flavour and character, partly as a result of the use of imported barrels sourced from around the world, including Spain, France, Scotland and the USA.
Inside the Distillatorium, which includes a private bar and intimate tasting room, ‘rum hosts’ will talk through the processes that turn out these expertly crafted rums, from cane field to store shelf.
Visitors are promised they’ll leave with a new found appreciation of this much-loved Australian brand.
