The Royal Geelong Yacht Club’s Festival of Sails is the largest yachting event in Australia and the biggest keel boat event in the southern hemisphere. We welcome your interest in becoming involved in this exciting, highly regarded event held in the heart of Geelong in January every year.
The marquee event is the Passage Race from Melbourne to Geelong, a spectacle without peer. This race will celebrate its 181st anniversary in 2024.
For sponsors and exhibitors we can plan and coordinate a customised activation for you with an international on-line reach as well as exposure to the thousands of sailors and public on site during the event.

Volunteer
The Festival of Sails could not happen without the commitment of our dedicated Volunteer community.
In addition to the support from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club membership, the event brings together a large group of volunteers from across the wider Geelong community.
We are seeking volunteers to help ensure a seamless delivery of the 2024 event.

Media Centre
The Festivals of Sails’ media & PR team can accredit working media and freelancers with relevant commissions and provide access to onsite media centre facilities, site visits and to media boats to view the racing.
