Leading radio supplier Icom have signed a sponsorship deal with the Royal Geelong Yacht Club which will see them positioned as preferred supplier for all of our radio needs.
Our volunteers have enjoyed the use of Icom radios for some time, and with our huge summer of 2020 major events on the horizon, the club has embarked on a major equipment upgrade.
This will include new VHF radios for all of our race management boats. Alpha One and Eclipse will be upgraded with the latest fully featured Icom IC-423GB GPS enabled DSC VHF radios, with active noise cancelling technology and remote Command mic facilities to make life easier for our race management teams.
In addition AIS transponders will be added for added safety and visibility of marine traffic.
All of our course boats will be upgraded to IC-M330-GB GPS enabled compact DSC VHF radios which provide on screen GPS position coordinates.
