RGYC is delighted to announce that ‘Sailor Girl’ Nic Douglass will be joining the 2023 Festival of Sails organising crew as our event ambassador.
Well known amongst the sailing fraternity, Nic is a three-time open world sailing champion who combines her sailing expertise with her passion for communication and broadcasting.
Festival Chairman Paul Buchholz has welcomed Nic to her new role noting she’ll be hosting a daily post-competition wrap of all the regatta action each day of the Festival of Sails.
“It will be terrific to have Nic sharing some post race insights and interviews along with the video highlights of some of the best daily on-water action.”
For her part, Nic says she’s thrilled to have an official role at the 2023 Festival of Sails which is one of her favourite events on the sailing calendar.
“I’ve been lucky enough to attend major sailing events all over the world, but there’s something just a bit special about the Festival at Geelong,” she says.
“It’s always such a terrific fun event where everyone has a great time and I’m really looking forward to being part of the celebrations for its 180th anniversary. Can’t wait to get down there!”
