Festival Of Sails

Stay A Little Longer

The Festival of Sails Organising Committee is excited to announce our ‘Stay a Little Longer’ initiative.

In collaboration with Visit Victoria, the City of Greater Geelong and Tourism Greater Geelong & the Bellarine, we will be providing FOS sailors the opportunity to extend their stay and explore the Geelong region.

The Royal Geelong Yacht Club has a number of visitor berths available after the Festival of Sails. These will be provided FREE OF CHARGE for sailors to holiday in Geelong after the event until Sunday 30 January.

To be eligible to secure a berth, skippers must complete the following before Monday 3rd January:

  • Boats must be entered and fully paid in the Festival of Sails 2022.
  • To apply, please contact info@rgyc.com.au with:
    • Name of Vessel & Skipper,
    • Contact mobile number,
    • Desired length of stay in Geelong from Wednesday 26 January,
    • How many crew will be staying?

Berths are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis based on vessel size, draw and berthing availability.

Here for the Festival, why not stay a little longer and soak up the good life in Geelong and The Bellarine? There’s so much more to Geelong than an excellent waterfront, but certainly a great place to start. There’s public art scattered across the coastline, best known for the bollards – the colourful characters who highlight historic events and people who shaped the city, with some of them coming to life through augmented reality.

The city’s cultural precinct at the west end of Little Malop Street will delight with the Geelong Gallery, the Geelong Library and the Arts Centre, while street-art laced laneways branch off, with night spots and exciting eateries popping up everywhere. Old industrial spaces are being transformed into creative hubs, urban precincts and fabulous dining hotspots.

Geelong has been reinvented.

Head to The Bellarine and wander down historic streetscapes and tee off at lush golf courses, perfect for summer afternoons. Explore the burgeoning foodie scene, complete with craft breweries, local wineries, farmgates and provedores. Surf, paddle and swim at the bay and ocean baches, and get close to local wildlife in Port Phillip Bay.

Come see Geelong and The Bellarine for yourself …. And stay a little longer….. See you on the coast!
