Although the Festival of Sails is historically linked to a sailing regatta, the event offers so much more than just sailing as the Geelong Waterfront will come alive with a free Community Festival for all the family to enjoy over the Australia Day Long Weekend.
For those not competing on-water, the Community Waterfront Festival will see over 100,000 festival visitors head to Geelong to soak up the summer atmosphere. The event will feature live music acts across three stages; a fantastic mix of art and craft market stall holders; delicious food and wine; roving performers; a marine trade and boating lifestyle exhibition; an on-water ‘Come & Try Zone;’ a dedicated family friendly kids’ zone and much more. Australia Day (Sunday 26th January) will see the skies light up with the Bay FM Fireworks Spectacular, where the crowds will arrive early to set-up blankets and picnics along Eastern Beach’s best vantage points with radios tuned to Bay FM (FM 93.9) to hear the simulcast soundtrack.
