Royal Geelong Yacht Club’s marina is at the heart of on-water operations, welcoming hundreds of competing yachts from across Australia and overseas each January.
Located in the centre of Geelong’s waterfront precinct, the marina provides convenient access to race areas and competitor facilities, as well as the Regatta Village, Victorian Sailing Centre, and RGYC Clubhouse.
A range of berthing options accommodate visiting competitors and support vessels throughout the event period.
Depending on vessel size, class requirements and availability, competitors may be allocated berths within the marina, alongside marina arms, on designated floating berths or at other approved berthing locations within the precinct.
To ensure the best possible allocation for all competitors, specific berthing assignments and arrival instructions will be distributed by the RGYC marina team in the week leading up to Festival of Sails.
Further information regarding arrival procedures, marina operations and competitor berthing arrangements will be communicated directly to entered competitors closer to the event.
Competitors berthed at Royal Geelong Yacht Club have access to a range of facilities and services, including:
The Victorian Sailing Centre further enhances the competitor experience, providing world-class facilities for sailors, race officials and event operations throughout Festival of Sails.
For specific marina and berthing enquiries, please contact Royal Geelong Yacht Club.
During Festival of Sails, the marina becomes one of the most vibrant areas of the event precinct. Visitors are welcome to explore designated public access areas, including the main marina arm and northern wall, offering unique opportunities to view the competing fleet and experience the atmosphere of Australia’s largest keelboat sailing regatta up close.
For safety and security reasons, access to berths, pontoons and competitor-only areas remains restricted to authorised personnel and accredited participants.
